South Korea’s KAON becomes first global partner for Righ’s ‘RighGravity’ multi-protocol Wi-Fi solution
By Claus Hetting, WiFi NOW CEO & Chairman
Righ – a recently launched provider of CPE software platforms and hardware designs – is on a mission to simplify and reduce the cost of Wi-Fi 7 deployments for CSPs and ODMs, and now the company has landed its first global partner: KAON will be integrating the RighGravity framework into its Wi-Fi 7 tri-band gateways. KAON is a major provider of broadband and pay TV solutions serving more than 150 clients in 90 countries.
The race to deliver market-leading Wi-Fi 7 solutions to CSP is heating up with the recent entry of promising startup, Righ. This week at CES the company announced its RighGravity multi-protocol Wi-Fi framework (read more here) and now the company is announcing its first global ODM partner. South Korea’s KAON is already a provider of CPE (gateway and set-top box) solutions to a long list of tier one CSPs in Europe and elsewhere.
KAON is laser-focused on delivering a single, market-leading Wi-Fi 7 solution to its CSP clients and says that RighGravity is the right framework for providing exceptional value, the company says.
Righ says the partnership with KAON is the first step in RighGravity’s global expansion.
RighGravity is also an opportunity for ODMs as well as CSPs to reduce the number of Wi-Fi gateway products from many to a single build, since the RighGravity framework supports most common mesh protocols. Previously, ODMs such as KAON needed to produce and deliver a series of largely equivalent gateways depending on the preferences of CSP clients. This simplification represents a significant cost savings for ODMs that can now be passed on to CSP clients, Righ says.
This week at CES in Las Vegas, KAON and Righ will showcase the capabilities of RighGravity from January 7–10, 2025.
